# Insights

> Connections, weekday rhythms, standout days and experiments, and what they can tell you.

Insights looks across everything you have logged and shows you what moved together.

It shows what moved together, not what caused what. A connection between short sleep and higher spending means those days lined up in your data. It does not mean one caused the other.

## What you need first

Insights needs two metrics logged on the same days for about three weeks. Until then, the tab tells you what is missing.

## Kinds of insight

| Insight | What it shows |
| - | - |
| Connections | Two metrics that rise and fall together, with a day's lag where it fits |
| Weekday rhythms | How a metric differs across the days of the week |
| Standout days | Days where a metric was unusually high or low for you |
| Dose and response | How one metric sat at different levels of another |
| Experiments | A before and after comparison around a change you made |

## Save, hide or dismiss a finding

Each finding has Save, Not useful and Hide. A saved finding stays on the tab as it was shown. Not useful removes that finding. Hide removes every finding about that pair of metrics.

## Correlation explorer

Pick any two metrics and see them side by side, with the strength of the connection. The website guide [How VitaSync finds connections](https://vitasync.io/how-vitasync-finds-connections) explains the method.

## Computed on your phone

Insights are calculated on your phone. No server sees your numbers to produce them.
