These seven metrics cover how you feel and how you spend your attention. Mood, Energy and Stress are check-ins you can repeat through the day. Meditation and Deep Work are timed. Android can read Screen Time for you. Every metric is optional.

Check-ins: Mood, Energy and Stress

Until a day has a check-in, the row shows the 1–10 strip itself. One tap on a number saves a check-in. The row then shows the day’s value. Tap it to add another check-in or to edit one.
  • The day’s value is the average. Check-ins of 6, 8 and 7 give a day of 7. The average shows to one decimal place, and VitaSync labels it as the average of check-ins.
  • Equal values both count. Two check-ins of 7 stay as two check-ins.
  • Each check-in has a time. On today it is the time you tapped. On a past day you can add a time or leave it out.
  • You can edit or delete one check-in. You can also change its date or time. Moving it to another day updates both days’ averages.
  • Opening the strip writes nothing. A check-in only exists once you choose a number.
  • A day with no check-in stays blank. VitaSync does not put in a middle value.
A higher Stress number means more stress. Mood and Energy run the other way, where a higher number is better. Stress is typed by hand in the beta.

Journal

Journal holds one line a day. It is never required. VitaSync keeps your text while you type, and closing the sheet any way keeps it. Whitespace on its own clears the entry.

Meditation and Deep Work

Both metrics work the same way. You can log a session three ways:
  • Start a timer and stop it when you finish.
  • Tap a quick length to add a session.
  • Enter a custom length.
Each session has a time, and the sessions add up to the day. Meditation adds up in minutes. Deep Work adds up in hours.

The timer logs to today

A timer always logs to today, whichever day you are looking at. On a past day the lengths come first, because you can only add a session that already happened by hand. The timer comes below them as Start timer for today.

A total with no sessions

A total you typed in quick-add or Catch up has no times behind it. The list shows it as “Logged as a total for the day”. You can remove it like any entry. When you add a first session, the total joins the list.

Screen Time

Screen Time is one number a day. Unlike Meditation and Deep Work, it is not a sum of sessions.
  • Android can read it. Open the menu, then Integrations, then Screen time. Turn on usage access for VitaSync. See Screen time.
  • VitaSync stores the total only. It does not store a list of apps.
  • You can type it instead. Enter hours and minutes on the Log tab. A number you type wins over one your phone supplies.
  • A value from your phone is read-only. It shows a small source badge until you edit it.
  • iPhone will be manual. iOS gives other apps no way to read screen time.
Screen Time saves when you leave the field. A Save button appears while your number differs from the stored one.
