These four metrics describe how your body rested and recovered. Sleep, Resting HR and Calories Burned can fill themselves in from Health Connect. Soreness is a check-in you answer yourself. Every metric is optional, and a day you skip stays blank. VitaSync sets a number you type outside its range to the nearest limit. A value that fills itself in shows a small source badge and is read-only. Edit it and it becomes yours. See Where a value comes from.

Sleep

The day a night belongs to

Sleep belongs to the day you woke up. Last night’s sleep sits on today’s entry. If you go to bed at 23:15 on Thursday and wake at 07:00 on Friday, that night is Friday’s sleep. You can log last night in the morning. Use the arrows on the Log tab to go back a day and fill in an earlier night.

Two ways to enter a night

The sleep sheet shows one night in two ways. Pick the tab that suits what you know.
  • Duration: pick 6h, 7h, 8h or 9h. Use the 15 minute buttons to adjust. Tap the length to type hours and minutes.
  • Sleep times: set Went to sleep and Woke up. Each shows its date, so a night that crosses midnight is clear.
The two tabs never disagree. Change a time and the length changes. Change the length and your bedtime moves back from the time you woke up.

Quality

Rate the night from 1 (Poor) to 10 (Great). The rating is optional, and you can save a night without it.

Saving a night

Save sleep keeps the whole night in one step. The close button and Android Back throw your changes away. After you save, the Log says Sleep updated and offers Undo for five seconds.

Sleep from Health Connect

Health Connect sleep arrives with its bed and wake times. It counts the time you were asleep, which is shorter than bed to waking. Open a night from Health Connect and save without a change, and it stays as it was. If you also type a night for the same day, yours wins. See Health Connect.

Resting HR

Resting HR is one number for the day. Health Connect fills it in once you grant that permission. You can also type it. VitaSync accepts values from 30 to 220 bpm.

Soreness

Soreness often shows up a day or two after the workout that caused it. So it has its own check-in, separate from the workout. You find it as Recovery check-in on the Log tab, under Workouts.
  • One tap saves it. Tap a level from 0 to 10. There is no Save button.
  • 0 is an answer. It means you checked and nothing was sore. VitaSync keeps that zero and does not read it as blank.
  • Body areas are optional. Choose from Legs, Glutes, Calves, Lower back, Upper back, Chest, Shoulders, Arms, Core, Neck, Hips and All over.
  • Link recent workouts if you like. You can pick from the workouts you logged in the last three days.
  • You can check in more than once a day. The Log row shows 6/10, or “2 check-ins · worst 6/10”.
  • A check-in sits on the day it is for. Change its date and it moves to that day.
Soreness is not the same as a workout’s effort rating. Effort is how the session felt while you did it. Soreness is how your body felt afterwards. After you save a workout, VitaSync offers once to remind you tomorrow. The reminder arrives at your daily reminder time. Declining changes nothing about the workout.

Calories Burned

Calories Burned is the energy your body used over the day. It is not the food you ate. Your food total is Calories.

Typing a number

Resting HR and Calories Burned save when you leave the field. A Save button appears while your number differs from the stored one. Saved with a tick shows once they match.
