A separate supplement list is planned. Until then, add a habit for each supplement.
A value that fills itself in shows a small source badge and is read-only. Edit it and it becomes yours. A number you type always wins over one that came from Health Connect. See Where a value comes from.
Steps
Health Connect gives VitaSync the day’s step count. You can also type it. Steps, Weight and other number fields save when you leave the field. A Save button appears while your number differs from the stored one.Weight
VitaSync stores weight in kilograms and shows it in your unit. To choose, open the menu, then Settings, then Units & Currency. Changing the unit does not change your history. From Health Connect, the day’s value is the latest reading from that day. VitaSync rounds it to 0.1 kg. A day with no reading stays blank.Water
Water is timed. Each drink you add is an entry with a time. The entries add up to the day’s total in ml.- Each tap adds 250 ml. Change the amount with the stepper, then tap the button that names it, like Add 250 ml.
- Presets add a named amount. They include a glass, a pint and a bottle. The sizes follow your drink-units setting.
- Entries are editable. Remove one to correct the total.
Water from Health Connect
Each Health Connect hydration record arrives as its own drink, at the time Health Connect recorded it. Drinks you add in VitaSync sit beside them. Remove an imported drink and it stays removed, so the next refresh does not bring it back. A drink logged both in VitaSync and in another app counts twice. Remove one to fix the total.Caffeine
Each tap adds one cup. A cup is one cup whatever its size. The unit is loose on purpose, because logging the same way every day matters more than precision.Alcohol
Alcohol is a personal count. Which count depends on your drink-units setting.
To change it, open the menu, then Settings, then Units & Currency. Under Drinks, choose UK or US. The same setting sets the sizes of your water and alcohol presets.
VitaSync does not convert between the two systems. A count you logged stays as you logged it.
How VitaSync works out a count
A count means nothing without a strength. VitaSync works each one out from the drink’s size and strength. For UK units, that is the strength (% ABV) times the size in ml, divided by 1,000. These are the NHS’s own examples for UK units:- A pint (568 ml) of 3.6% beer is 2 units.
- A 125 ml glass of 12% wine is 1.5 units.
- A 25 ml measure of 40% spirit is 1 unit.
Presets and your own drink
- Each preset shows its size and strength. Hold a card to see the working for that drink.
- Different size or strength opens a small calculator. Type a size and strength, and it shows the answer, like “That is 2.6 units.” Then tap Add.
- Save as my usual keeps that drink. It then leads the presets as My usual. There is one usual drink.
- A plain count is still there. Use it if you already know the number.
